Treatment of periodontitis

Periodontitis is one of the most common periodontal diseases which, if untreated, leads to loosening and loss of teeth. At Promedica, we use modern and effective therapy methods to stop the disease process and restore the health of the gums. Treatment is painless and we tailor each therapy plan individually to the patient's needs.

How do we treat periodontitis?

The treatment of periodontitis consists primarily of thorough cleaning of teeth from tartar and deposits, removal of bacterial biofilm, and regeneration of periodontal tissues. In our clinic, we use both classic methods (scaling, curettage, pocket rinsing) and modern technologies, such as laser therapy, ozone therapy or the Vector® method. As a result, treatment is effective, comfortable and allows the effects to be maintained over the long term.

Regular check-ups and oral hygiene play a key role in the prevention of periodontitis. Our specialists not only take care of the health of the gums, but also educate the patient to avoid recurrence in the future.

Periodontitis treatment - what you need to know

Scaling and curettage

The cornerstone of periodontitis treatment is the removal of plaque deposits that irritate the gums and promote bacterial growth. Ultrasonic scaling allows the teeth to be thoroughly cleaned of supragingival tartar, while curettage is the manual cleaning of gum pockets of plaque and infected tissue. Performing these procedures regularly stops the progression of the disease and gives the gums a chance to regenerate.

Vector® method

Vector® is a modern technology for treating periodontitis using ultrasound. Thanks to special tips, it is possible to gently and very precisely clean gingival pockets without damaging the enamel or gums. The treatment is comfortable for the patient, minimises bleeding and pain, and additionally supports the regeneration processes of periodontal tissues.

We highly recommend it! Our son associates a visit to Promedica Będzin with great fun! Before we came to Promedica, our son was very afraid of the dentist (he got discouraged in another place and was very scared) and didn't even want to open his mouth. Thanks to the Promedica team, my son is no longer afraid at all. Without any fear, he happily sits on the hotel table and has his teeth treated, and his smile accompanies him throughout the whole visit! We would recommend to anyone who is still wondering at 100%.
