The indications for its performance are mainly serious conditions: chronic inflammation of tissues (resistant to root canal treatment), deep mechanical damage to teeth, extensive caries and gum disease (advanced periodontitis). The procedure is most often performed in the case of complications related to the emergence of wisdom teeth. It consists of removing the part of the gum that obstructs the eruption of the tooth.
An abscess develops as a result of a bacterial infection and can lead to infection via the bloodstream. It is therefore important to ensure that it is removed in good time. The abscess removal procedure is performed under local anaesthetic.
An abnormal frenulum fusion of the upper lip and tongue can result in restricted mobility. A shortened frenulum results in abnormal pronunciation or no pronunciation at all. The frenum plication procedure is performed with a laser under computer anaesthesia.
