Every patient undergoing dental care at Promedica undergoes regular professional cleaning of teeth from tartar, supragingival and subgingival calculus, deposits and stains (scaling and sandblasting). Hygienization, consisting of ultrasonic scaling and sandblasting, is one of the most important factors inhibiting the development of periodontal disease (periodontitis).
Scaling and sandblasting are not, however, the only treatments for the prevention of dental diseases. After calculus removal, it is advisable to varnish the teeth with preparations containing fluorine compounds - not only in children! The purpose of fluoridation is to clean and tightly fill the dental fissures. This eliminates the problem of food residues and the development of bacteria that cause decay and periodontitis.
Effective prophylaxis is not only about regular scaling and sandblasting and fluoridation of the teeth. Involvement and cooperation on the part of the patient are crucial in this case. Standard hygiene is the basic preventive treatment performed in our dental practice. GBT hygienization is a modern method of tooth cleaning based on precise removal of bacterial biofilm. The procedure proceeds in stages - it starts with visualisation of the plaque with a special dye, so that the patient and the hygienist can accurately see the areas that need cleaning. The biofilm and deposits are then removed with the AIRFLOW® device, which uses a jet of water, air and a special powder. This makes the treatment gentle, safe for the enamel and soft tissues, yet very effective.
Vector is an advanced technology used to treat periodontal disease. The device uses ultrasound and a special fluid that reaches deep into the gum pockets, effectively removing bacteria, subgingival deposits and toxins. Unlike traditional curettage, the procedure is minimally invasive, gentle on the tissues and much more comfortable for the patient.
